However, the update still in Release Candidate version but it can use for daily activities, we already use it for almost one week and facing no major problem.

The update named as ParanoidAndroid 3.99-RC2 with some bugs fix and a few tweaks. As per changelog, the update contains Ninja level +1 (HALO now disappears if only persistent or pinned apps are present and of course if its empty), Fixed Linked volume settings bug, Fixed turning off persistent notifications bug, Fixed notification icons not showing when HALO is active (Tablet UI bug), Other Tablet UI fixes, Added incoming call screen transparency, Reordered settings menu, and the optional flash-able OTG kernel but at the moment this feature exclude from the update zip file.

In our experience with this new update ROM, all applications running well including porting Samsung Galaxy S4 launcher and Razr M launcher with famous three circle widget. But we love to use default launcher.

By the way, the ParanoidAndroid team plans to release Android 4.4 KitKat. Based on the screenshot that they posting on their G+, It looks amazing and an impressive improvement taking UI into consideration where we sure the touch latencies and transitions are improved. Update Pantech Discover to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

Posted on 01 August 2013 by Wira

The Pantech Discover finally received update software to Android Jelly Bean through over the air. The update is official Android OS but it will coming to your phone in phases, gradually. It’s mean not all the AT&T Pantech Discover android phones will receive the OS improvement on the same time. However, this is good sign from the manufacturer since many others android phone has already receive official android Jelly Bean as significant support for their products.

Pantech Discover is the android phone with Android 4.0 ICS firmware that already outdated now. The phone released in January this year with low price assigned by AT&T but it has specs and performances are quite decent. Even though the phone is not so popular like others brand but it can steal the attention of android users, especially new users start switching to android mobile platform.

Pantech Discovery Android Jelly Bean

Low price, decent specs and performances, and now the Pantech Discover received update official software to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will become huge advantage even though many android fans said it’s too late. But better late than never, to provide the major update software from Android ICS to Android Jelly Bean since many improvements available inside the Android Jelly Bean including Project Butter, expendable notifications, Google Now, Voice search and more.

Since the official update software for Pantech Discover from Android ICS to Android Jelly Bean done through OTA, your phone must be unroot and run stock ROM. If you already rooted your phone even though still using the stock ROM, than your Pantech Discover doesn’t receive OTA notification. In this case, you have to manually install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, or if you would to wipe your phone like a new phone than you have to downgrade to ICS first as then the root access will be revoked.

To know if the OTA Android JB already available for you than you have to check the update for your device by going to “Menu -> Settings -> AT&T software update -> Check for updates” or you can wait for the prompts to be displayed automatically. Either way, for applying the ROM you need to have a WiFi connection enabled while following the on-screen prompts.

Hopefully, the official update software for Pantech Discover to android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean runs smoothly on the phone since we get report if any android phone received official update to Jelly Bean but it sacrifices the performance and has some minor bugs.
