I’m glad to hear since CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS will coming shortly in next 2 months. Well, this is as our expectation once Google finish to pushing out the source code of Android 4.0 ICS to the server. And now one of the famous independent Android developer team announced to start working with the latest Android OS.
CyanogenMod team will release CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS in around 2 months. But please notice if the team doesn’t usually give precise ETA for its upcoming software release. What we can do is just waiting until the official statement release by CyanogenMod.
CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS is the next version from CyanogenMod 7 by skip CyanogenMod 8. CM7 based on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and than CM8 will base on Android 3.0 Honeycomb. But it changes since Google release their latest Android OS. So it makes better if the team working for CM9 based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS will be interesting custom ROM since this is the Android version which supports to run on both Android smartphones and tablets. I would like to see how CyanogenMod team presents their custom Rom CM9 to support those both capabilities.
Hopefully CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS will compatible with many of Android smartphones and tablets and offers advanced features even many new updates and features have been provided in Android ICS. Let’s see how CyanogenMod team deliver their User Interface, a new contact app, improve keyboard, better voice recognition, system wide spell checking and many more to the new version of CyanogenMod custom ROM the better version if we compare to the default/standard ROM from Google.
Hopefully the team will offers nightly releases and release candidates on next 2 months before launching major updates. Afterward, we will lucky to download CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0 ICS.
