Bing as the search engine from Microsoft has a new update. The update released for Bing on the desktop and mobile platforms. The Android as the most popular mobile platform nowadays has already included on this update. The Bing update for Android has a few new features to address to Microsoft’s search application.
“What’s nearby” now shows when you do a search. After the Bing has granted the app permission to view his or her location, automatically Bing will search nearby restaurants, entertainment venues, hotels, government or community centers, and transportation locations by category on your search result. Bing also provided contact and map information for those locations. The feature is not really much new since we could find such as features on other application like foursquare. However, this is the good step by Microsoft to provide the result search.
The Bing could appear also as the homescreen widget as long as been granted the permission to perform search apps or phone-stored information like the Google Search widget. It will turn up contacts, apps, or files with that word, or you can perform a traditional web search. Bing also taps into third party apps via the Android “Share” function, or use OpenTable and GrubHub to make reservations without leaving the app.
To install Bing on the Android phone, you could go to the Android Market than type “Bing” and it will appear and ready to install. Install Bing on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 should be easy since the apps has already available on the market.
