Text Messaging is most popular application including for Android user. Honestly, now I’m using whatsapp to replace SMS text message to my friend, of course my frien use whatsapp also. Whatsapp is very easy to use and more convenient compare with others IM service because it just use our phon enumber as the ID.
But after use for certain time, whatsapp has lack of feature like limited group chat with maximum 10 member only and no voice call. I’ve already contact the developer regarding the maximum number of group chat, hopefully whatsapp wil accommodate our concern to put 30 people like in BlackBerry Messenger in one group chat.
Now another messaging service app has already released for Android. It offers free phone calls and text messaging. It called as Viber and the app still in beta version.
Viber is a mobile app which previously only available for iPhone but for now ready for Android. The app will help us to make phone calls and send text messages for free to other Viber users. If text messages is common feature but not for voice call, not many mobile app has voice call feature among their user. If Vibe provide this feature for us, it looks good.
Since Viber support for iPhone and Android, so Android users could also call and send text messages to iPhone users for free and vice versa. Beside the common features, in Android also has exclusive features such as pop-up text message notifications which allow users to respond to messages without opening the full app, integration with the Android system so you can see your regular phone call logs and messages in Viber and Viber can be set as the phone’s default dialer.
To get the app, you need to sign up to access the app at Viber web site. The invitation should start this week.
