How to Partition SD Card for App2sd Android App
Before we begin installation, please ensure the following app has been downloaded and ready to use.
1. Download Mini Partition Tool Wizard Software. Download here.
2. Download App2sd in here
But if you want to the Titanium backup detect the App2sd, download the app2sd modify in here.
3. Download busybox app, just download through the market.
And now, let’s begin to partition the SDCard.
- Connect the Android phone to the PC through USB data cable than mount SDCard. Backup all data in
SDCard because we will format the card.
- Open the MIni partition tool wizard software, we will see the SD Card on the buttom of drive. Just right
click on the SDCard, delete to become unallocated.
- Make 3 partition on SDCard
a. Partition 1 FAT32 (Data SDCard). Right click the drive than choose create.
choose create as primary, file system to FAT32, than size and location depends our requirement. This
partition to save mp3, picture/image, video, etc. Usually we just create 1.2Gb as data storage. than
click OK.
b. Partition 2 Ext2 (App/Games Data). Right click the drive than choose create.
choose create as primary, file system Ext2, than define size and location. The partition will save our
Apps and games. If you don’t know, just type 420Mb. Than click OK.
c. PArtition 3 Linux Swap. As like above, but the file system must be SWAP than size and location, click
OK.
- After finish with the partition, just click apply on the upper left screen, wait a while and ensure the
partition successful.
- Disconnect the phone from PC than restart the phone.
- Install Busybox from Market, exit once you install the busybox app.
- Extract app2sd app that we’ve downloaded before and copy to SD
- Install App2sd, connect phone with PC and choose sdcard unmount.
- Open adb shell than type following command.
su
busybox sh /sdcard/app2sd.sh
- Choose 1 to install app2sd
- The phone automatically restart
- Finish
And now, please check your internal memory and compare with the previous condition. Hopefully your Internal memory now has more space.
