As we know, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest and greatest Android OS which the source code just release by Google a few days a go. However, Google had said where Google Nexus One is too old to run Android 4.0 ICS. At that time, it is a bad day for Android users who use Google nexus One Android phone and others similar specifications Android phone. Nevertheless, the good luck comes now.

Since the source code Android 4.0 ICS released by Google, some manufacturer such as HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Sony and other handset makers promise to release their update for existing Android phones even not all Android phones will get the update due to lack of specifications of hardware. As Sony said on their blog that the company plans to release the update only for the entire 2011 Xperia Android smartphones, that is mean Xperia X10 that released on 2010 exclude from the plans.

What we need is just wait or if you have capability to coding, perhaps you could join the project to runs Android 4.0 ICS to many old Android smartphones as many as you can.

The custom ROM Android 4.0 ICS is base on the Android Open Source Project code that released already this week. The AOSP codes contain all Android 4.0 ICs features and hopefully they will add new feature as well as what Google do to the source code of Android ICS.

Once again, what XDA developer’s members do by running Android 4.0 ICS to the old Android smartphones must appreciated. This is will open others Android developers to put the Android 4.0 ICS to others Android phones even it categorized as old phones.
