According to Tech Radar, several sources have confirmed that Honeycomb will be the follow up to Android 3.0 (Gingerbread). There are few details about the newly named update, although it’s thought that it’ll be incremental rather than add a bundle of major new features, like FroYo (Android 2.2) was to Eclair (Android 2.1).

honeycomb Is Android Honeycomb as Android 3.1?

Android Gingerbread is due to come out at the tail end of 2010 into early 2011, so we’d expect Honeycomb to be released mid next year, with an OS 4.0 launch at the end of 2011.

However, no news announce yet for the minimum hardware specs of Android 3.1 but most probably minimum processor is 1Ghz while for Android 4.0 minimum specs use processor 1.5Ghz. If prediction is true, so we don’t need to wait longer since Qualcomm will be release Snapdragon 1Ghz soon to the market.
