Samsung Intercept Update to Android Froyo

Samsung has already release update for Samsung Intercept to Android 2.2. This is a good news for user since they already lon time stuck with Android 2.1 Eclair. The update got from Sprint that release the phone to their user. Unsure if unlocked Samsung Intercept could use the update.

OTA will be the best way to get the update. Sprint announced that Google is sending out an OTA update to Intercept users that will bump the software up to Android 2.2 Froyo. The update will add some enhancements and fixes like Sprint navigation, dropped calls after unacknowledged call waiting, and force close errors when opening contacts.

Please ensure to follow the instruction below to update your Samsung Intercept to prevent any unwanted happen to your handset.

Update your software
1. From the Home screen, press Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Flick down on the screen to scroll down; tap About Phone
4. Tap System updates > Update Firmware or Update Android
5. The device will check for updates
6. Follow instructions to install the update

Check the version on your phone:
1. From the Home screen, press Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Flick up on the screen to scroll down; tap About Phone
4. Flick up on the screen to scroll down; the software version will be listed under the Baseband version heading and will be in the format of S:M910.XX X.XXXX

  2. i got the update and so far it has fixed all my issues…i went throught three phones b4 the upgrade…my phone doesnt freeze up…drop the internet…and its not running super slow….very happy with the fixes but will deff get and htc for my next upgrade….had a g1 and it was a work horse never had any problems out of it…hats off to samsung for the fixes …saved me from cussing out sprint for the upgrade to a htc…going to ride the contract out the go back to htc for sure…and b4 the update when call waiting was ringing it automatically switched over…was annoying as hell…seems to have fixed that to
