Finally, Sony Ericsson announced that the update for Xperia X10 Android 2.3 Gingerbread soon to be released in August. Only the date of release updates Xperia X10 is still not given but certainly in August was the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will get updates Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Although somewhat disappointed with the length of the Sony Ericsson issuing updates Xperia X10 Android Gingerbread. But with the announcement is certainly a little relieved though late. Frankly, I myself can not wait updates Xperia X10 with anticipation so it occurred to use the custom ROMs are widely available in various forums.
Now I’m just waiting for the months of August and hopefully what is promised by the Sony Ericsson to update Xperia X10 Android 2.3 Gingerbread proven. Because of such experience last time, many disappointments felt by users, including myself, for such support for Xperia X10.

The UI with the desktop layout and pinch-to-overview gesture will be similar and Gingerbread features like Wi-Fi & USB tethering, App storage on SD-card etc are included. Also the customizable horizontal app tray and the media experience widgets from the 2011 XperiaTM Products are in, including an integrated equalizer in the music player. Of course also apps that require Android versions 2.2 or 2.3 will now be possible to download from Android Market, e.g. Adobe flash.
Adobe flash player, portable hotspot, and the new Facebook inside Xperia functionality introduced in the 2011 Xperia Android phone products will also be in the Xperia X10 phone. With Adobe flash player, I could play Youtube, Internet TV, and flash game directly from the browser.
Even I’m not Facebook fans boy, I’ve already buy Friendcaster Pro version, perhaps the app will useless since the Xperia X10 has a new Facebook inside Xperia functionality. But let’s see when the update Xperia X10 Android 2.3 Gingerbread comes in upcoming August, the Friendcaster will be end in my X10 phone or still use as the primary Facebook client Android app.
Let’s wait for additional delay from Sony Ericsson until this August. Hopefully, the update process is same when update Xperia X10 to Android 2.1 Eclair via PC Companion. At the moment, please check out the below video to give you some insight about Xperia X10 Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
How about Xperia X8, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro, they will be staying on Android 2.1 Eclair. Sony Ericsson doesn’t have any plan to release update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread or at least Android 2.2 Froyo. Just wait Update Xperia X10 Android 2.3 Gingerbread at this August.
