Now I have Xperia X10 Android phone which already upgrade to Android 2.1 Eclair. The performance so far awesome but I can not wait to upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Hopefully soon it will release by Sony Ericsson. However, I need X10 become a modem to connect to hotspot or 3G internet connection than share to my desktop computer and or to my laptop.
so, I need to enable USB tethering on Xperia X10. I’ve just read many tutorial and some of them advise to rooted X10 to get the USB tethering capability. Of course, for my side this is very hard because I like to stock ROM Android Eclair. So, I just start to search the proper and correct Android application on Android market.
Fortunately many apps available to enable USB tethering without root access. One of them that I think fit with my requirement is PdaNet apps. PdaNet helps us to share internet connection to our laptop and or computer to go online through the Android phone’s data connection, in my case I just connect to hotspot through X10.
Recently PdaNet is one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones, Palm OS phones and iPhones use as a modem. It is now ported to the Android system! Supports USB Tether and Bluetooth DUN (bluetooth internet access) . No root access needed. Works on ALL Android phones.
Not only share the internet connection, the app also supports sending SMS from PC. So, we got 2 apps in one. PdaNet free edition was developed for Android by June Fabrics Technology Inc. You could get it on Android market.
Please notice, we need to install PdaNet app client to the computer or laptop, just download the app client which correct with your Operating system’s computer. Since this is FREE version of apps, so the limitation will enable on certain time. If you want to get full access, just purchase it through the link that provide by developer.

Seems not to be working on Xperia X10 Mini Pro as the android market does not allow it to be downloaded…
Thanks
