USB Tethering Verizon Droid Razr Maxx with PdaNet
Just today we received Verizon Motorola Droid Razr Maxx XT912 from our friend. It is great android smartphone from Motorola and it runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean stock ROM. All features are working well including GSM data connection through GSM/UMTS. However due to special requirements, we need to tethering data GSM/UMTS connection to our PC. But it fails to perform. PdaNet unable to install on our PC since it can not install the driver of Motorola Droid Razr Maxx XT912.
We already try several ways but the progress unsatisfied unless we found the correct way to enable USB tethering Verizon Droid Razr Maxx with PdaNet on our PC. On next post, we would like to share our findings to solve USB tethering on Droid Razr Maxx with PdaNet.
Before we proceed to further step, please pay attention to some notices given below.
- The tutorial performs on Windows XP SP2
- We are installing PdaNet3.50 to the phone
- We are installing PdaNetA300 to PC
Okay let’s find step-by-step tutorial on how to solve problem USB tethering Verizon Droid Razr Maxx with PdaNet.
Step 1 – Root your Droid Razr Maxx XT912, you can ask Google to find how to root Motorola Razr Maxx XT912.
Step 2 – Connect your phone to PC, ensure USB debugging enable and choose Mass Storage for USB computer connection.
Step 3 – Download ADB Driver Installer from download link; double click than ensure Detected Android Device List has your phone.
You will find “Device Status” is incorrect, click “Install” to make it “OK”
Step 4 – Download the PdaNet 3.50 APK file from download link, install manually to your phone. If you would like to use the latest PdaNet app, you will find it thru Google Play Store.
Step 5 – Download the PdaNet A300 for windows from download link, install as usual, just click NO if PdaNet ask to install the driver, than wait until installation completed.
Now, you can use PdaNet to tether your internet connection on Motorola Verizon Droid Razr Maxx XT912 to your PC. Just click the icon of PdaNet on the right below of your screen PC.
