Vodafone release the update for Xperia Play and Xperia Arc to Android 2.3.3. This update will including new UI for Facebook. This is a good news for any users of both Xperia phone because they no longer wait to get the latest Android Gingerbread version. But this update is only for Vodafone customer while for others carrier still no word to confirm the update also coming to them.
However, I believe the update will hit other carrier because the hardware is same so no big problem to get the latest update for Xperia Play and Xperia Arc to latest version of Gingerbread. In the mean time, Vodafone Xperia Play and Xperia Arc owners can look forward to a few bug fixes, and Facebook Inside Xperia, Sony Ericsson’s new Facebook-integrated UI.
What we get from the Android 2.3.3 update?, there are several improvements along the update such as improved voice quality, stability improvements, and email set-up and exchange account improvements. The improvements are quite okay but I need the battery life improvements to allow us more longer to far away from charger.
The update to Android 2.3.3 this time will change the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc became Xperia Facebook Phone. It happens since the core of each most used application such as the address book, the camera and media library apps, and the music player have the its social network Facebook. From here, we can suggested songs to walls, “like” just about anything, and see extra info on the friends in your address book, pulled straight from their Facebook profiles.
Honestly, I don’t like the update with the most used application integrated with social network Facebook. I just hope, the feature is like add-on which can enable and disable depend our needs not become the default feature inside the Xperia Android phone, Xperia Play and Xperia Arc.
Xperia Arc and Xperia Play update to Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 is not through OTA over-the-air. The update service is manual update that ask you to connect the Xperia Android phone to a computer and use the Sony Ericsson Update Service app to get things rolling.
