Play Samurai II Vengeance THD on Xperia X10

Posted on 25 April 2012 by Wira

Today I just upgrade Xperia X10 to kernel 2.3.4 with ROM from Xperia S. This is a custom ROM that allows you to use some features from Xperia S and Xperia Play. Perhaps later I will describe more detail how to upgrade Xperia X10 to ROM of Xperia S. I need a whole day to upgrade from stock ROM 2.3.3 Gingerbread, than unlock the bootloader before install the custom kernel with maximum overclocking setting.

But for now I just want to share how to play Samurai II Vengeance THD on Xperia X10. The game is exclusively for Tegra based Android devices, but with some tricks below you can play it on Xperia X10 even the phone doesn’t have Tegra.

Before you can play the Samurai II Vengeance THD, you need to download Chainfire3D Android app. Better if you get it from Google Play Store but you can download the APK file to install manually.

Things You Need before you set X10 to play Tegra based Android games

- Rooted Xperia X10, click here if you need to root your X10
- Chainfire3D Pro, download from Play Store or download APK
- Samurai II Vengeance THD for Tegra (as sample), download from Play Store or download APK

Now please follow the following instructions below to ensure you have correct setting especially for Chainfire3D because it needs to configure the 3 plug-in that help you to play Android games for Nvidia, PowerVR, and Qualcomm.

Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver. What does that mean? It means that Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two. It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plug-in to provide extra functionality. Unfortunately the Chainfire3D is for 1ghz+ devices only, if you have Android device less than 1Ghz processor than you should stop to playing the game.

The Chainfire3D is also required the root access that need by the app to write on /system partition while S-OFF is also required on HTC devices. However you will find some features on Chainfire3D reduced texture size and quality to reduce memory use and potentially increase game performance as well as increasing memory use potentially increase performance.

After you have finish to download the APK file above and your Xperia X10 rooted already, now you can go to next page to continue how to Play Samurai II Vengeance THD on Xperia X10

Install CM9 ROM to Xperia X10

Posted on 17 January 2012 by Wira

Until now I just curious can we install CM9 ROM to Xperia X10?. I ask this question since my friend with his HTC HD2 always change the ROM to the HTC HD2 every week. Many of custom ROM already installed on is HTC HD2 from ROM based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread to the latest Android 4.0 ICS. Honestly I jealous but I still use my Xperia X10 as my primary phone but it’s just a question like the above are always bothers me when I saw him show the HTC HD2 with a new ROM.

Fortunately I just found the nice thread in XDA that promising that we can install CM9 ROM to Xperia X10. Even this is alpha version but I am interesting to the developer who starts to spare his time to develop to try to deploy CM9 ROM to Xperia X10. Like others ROM in alpha stage, CM9 ROM for Xperia X10 still buggy and the ROM is very unstable, that’s mean the ROM is not recommended to use in primary phone.

install CM9 ROM to X10 CM9 ROM for xperia x10

Once you install CM9 ROM to Xperia X10, you will face some key things not working are camera, wireless hotspot, and USB MTP. But some things are ready to working like audio, GPS, touch screen, CWM recovery 5.5, Bluetooth, GSM, GSM Data, WiFi, Gralloc, Video Decoder, and 3D.
